A person that has decided on a topic for their web site and created the first initial pages has only just started down a long and arduous path when it comes to making money online. As mentioned in the previous article, patience is a key component in building a web site for profit because it will often take many months of waiting before the new site shows up on the major search engines. Once it does show up in the search engines the hard work has only just begun for a web site that does not grow will whither and die on the vine of the Internet.
Update, Rewrite, and Never Give Up!
Web site visitors are a lot like small children. They want something, they want it NOW, and if it does not keep them entertained they will cast it aside and never play with it again. When applied to Internet web sites, in order to attract visitors, grow in popularity, and increase your inbound links a web site must continue to grow and expand the content that is included on it. It is not enough to throw up a couple of pages on the weekend and then come back two months later to fix a few spelling errors. A good webmaster will add new content to a site on a weekly basis, adjusting items as needed to optimize their web site for the most effective search engine rankings.
The problem is that all of this takes time. Some webmasters update and work on their site for over a year before they finally start to see any real traffic and income from advertising or other revenue streams. The good news is that it those that stick with it are often rewarded, but it takes a lot of time and hard knocks before a new webmaster will finally turn the corner and become successful. Once that corner has been turned, the path to financial independence will finally be within reach.
