Profiting From EBay Auctions
The First Step: Finding Something To Sell
One of the quickest, easiest, and lowest cost ways to get started on EBay is to dig around in the attic and find three or four things that you want to get rid of. Remember that anyone can sell almost anything on EBay. There are few exceptions, but in general anything from bobby pins to cars to houses and real estate can be sold online in this manner. Go on EBay and try to find items that are similar to what you have selected. Be sure to check the Search Completed Auctions box on the search form. Also be sure to look closely at the results to make sure that the price shown is the final sale price and not a Buy It Now price that no one bid on. If the completed auctions show prices that are reasonable to you for that item then consider listing it for sale.
Other places to go to find low cost items to sell on EBay include local estate auctions. Be careful though, because as the popularity of EBay has grown, so too have the number of individuals that are out looking at estate sale properties for the same reason as you. Go into an auction with a set amount in mind for how much you are willing to pay for the item and stick to that price. That having been said, be on the lookout for items that are going cheaply that are curious or in very good physical condition. Some of the most profitable EBay auctions originate at estate sales when an entrepreneur gets a great deal on something no one else thought was worth anything. Glassware and other artistic knickknack items are prime examples of items that can on rare occasions bring big bucks from the right online buyer.
