Technolo gy is changing everyday and so is the beauty world. You never know what is going to be around the corner or the next time you step into your local drug/beauty store. Check out Women’s Health top five beauty breakthroughs and how they can simplify your life while making you look good.

One:  30-Second Manicures

Have you ever needed a quick touch up for your “just completed” manicure? Well Sally Hansen has you covered with their Insta-Dri Nail Color. This nail color comes with a flat brush for easy application and a Plexiglas ingredient for long-lasting and chip-free wear. Keep a bottle of this in your purse, in your favorite color, as a back-up.

Two: Wrinkle Prevention

Have you heard of sirtuin? It’s the latest anti-aging agent that’s supposed to help prevent wrinkles and work even better than antioxidants. Katie Rodan, M.D., a dermatologist commented, “Antioxidants eat up free-radicals, which accelerate aging. But sirtuin would actually protect the cells from aging altogether.” You can get this anti-aging agent in Estee Lauder’s Time Zone wrinkle-reducing moisturizers. You can also look for it in Dior’s collection of CaptureTotale products.

Three: Eco-friendly Tanning

Everyone is trying to be kinder to mother earth these days and tanning is no exception. If you’ve gone green and you want to make your tanning sessions do the same, try organic spray tans. Susie Hatton, the creator of Chocolate Sun Organic Sunless Tanning Treatment, talks about her organic tanning solution, “we use ingredients like sugar beet juice, botanicals, and herb, which darken skin for seven to 10 days.” Her product is currently used at two spas: the new Canyon Ranch in Miami and the Peninsula Hotel in New York City. She plans on releasing an at-home misting product later in the year.

Four: Longer Lashes without the Mascara

Every woman wants a pair of luscious and full eyelashes but you either have to buy eyelash fillers or a very thick mascara to get that look, until now. Allergan will release Latisse, this year, which is the “first FDA-approved prescription eyelash treatment that lengthens, thickens and darkens fringe,” according to Women’s Health magazine. You simply brush the product along your lash line. There are some over the counter options, but if you want serious results, talk with your dermatologist. They can give you a prescription but a one-month supply will cost about $120.  For some women, it’s worth it.

Five: Thicker, Healthier Hair

If you want healthier and thicker hair, try L’Oreal’s newest hair care line which was introduced in January, called Professional Série Expert Volume Expand. This line uses calcium to make your hair stronger and silica to smooth your hair cuticles. In the end you get stronger and shinier hair.  It may sound like every other shampoo out there, but it’s not. This line of hair care takes the idea from the popularity of mineral make-up and instead of putting the minerals on your face; you apply them to your hair through their shampoos, conditioners and styling products.

Every woman can benefit from at least one of these beauty inventions. They can make your life a little simpler and even help you keep with the green theme. Keep an eye open for other great beauty breakthroughs that will help simplify and add beauty to your morning routine.
