Google has this really cool feature called “Google Alerts”. As a writer I find them extremely helpful in getting ideas and knowing what people are interested in right now in certain areas that I write about. So of course when I started writing for the Beauty and Fashion section of Lest Out I started a Google Alert on beauty. Opening it today was a bit of a shock. These are a couple of the articles that this alert had links to and my candid responses.
“Exidéal LED Esthé Home Beauty Treatment”- This shows a new purpose for those old LED flash light light bulbs. Now that they are really old technology why not unload them on gullible people who are desperate to be beautiful. Sounds genius to me!
“The Ugly Side of Beauty.” This is a blog entry about that new Donald Trump show. You know the one about the “beauty queens” living together and being catty. Outside beauty better than inside beauty? I hope not. Though shallow pretty people are the most interesting to watch, right?
“Beauty is a Depreciating Asset.” This article is about a woman that is obviously pimping herself out for a to marry a man. She only wants to be with a man that makes over five-hundred thousand dollars a year. She boasts that she is extremely pretty and shallow.
Oh! What's her number! Shallow and pretty. What an unusual combination! I digress.
The article goes on to say that this twenty five year old woman got a letter from a man that stated that beauty is a “depreciating asset” and that she will be “done” by the time she is thirty five thus making her a bad investment.
Besides the fact that we are living in a modern society where women should make their own way and never pimp themselves out to make a living, are you really ugly at thirty five? I am thirty six and I certainly do not feel ugly. I feel prettier than I ever have. Even with out plastic surgery.
“Cosmetic Surgery is now part of modern beauty treatments, writer claims.” Is it just me or is this just plain scary. Do we really have to have plastic surgery to be beautiful. If so, I throw in the towel. Haven't had plastic surgery so far, probably never will. I have to admit though, with age, droopiness and wrinkles, my resolve is weakening.
Even with the numbers of people getting plastic surgery is sky rocketing, most people still do not get plastic surgery and never will. This is a fact that is hard for me to remember because I do live near the plastic surgery capitol of the United States. Can guess where that is? Tell me where you think it is in the Beauty and Fashion forum.
Do these links scare you? Me too!
