Thinking about getting shorts for the spring and summer months? Sure you are! But be careful.
To be honest, I am on the fence about shorts. So many people do shorts wrong that I almost think that they should be banned from most wardrobes. If you really want to wear them make sure of a few things.

- Make sure that the shorts do not ride up in between the legs. It really is very unflattering. You can avoid this with proper fit. Avoid wearing shorts that are too loose.
- If you have cellulite on your thighs make sure the shorts cover it, all of it! Try these cute olive green Bermuda length shorts.
- Make sure your shorts are long enough to cover your butt cheeks. Unless you are at some sexy calender shoot (and even then), we do not want that much of a show.
- Do not wear shorts to work. Even on casual Friday. Shorts are just plain too casual for that sort of thing. Shorts are for weekends, beaches, and maybe for a casual lunch with friends.
- If you are heavy on the bottom (as I am) then be careful with patterns like large flowers or plaids. Shorts seem exaggerate the bottom half if done wrong. If you want something other than a solid, go for vertical stripes.
- When in doubt go for a skirt or a skort, which is a cross between a skirt and shorts instead. Check out this adorable sateen dot print skort by Liz Claborne.
- Wear heels with shorts. Even just an inch can make the legs look great! These sexy heels from Victoria Secret may be a little much but who cares, right?
- Make sure they are flat panel in the front and they do not poof. A poofy front makes you look heavier than you are.
