On a recent episode, Oprah had a show with five or six hairstylists “to the stars”. They gave miraculous makeovers (that I must admit were a tad boring), gave some insider scoop on celebrity gossip (not too much or dishy, mind you) and tips on how to get great results with hair at home. I have to admit that the tips was the only part of the show I actually enjoyed.
Of course being a red blooded American woman in her mid thirties, I am always looking for ways to look a little younger. On the show they gave a few tips that were very easy to do.
-
Dye your hair one shade lighter than your natural shade. So if you have light brown hair like me, go dark blond. Also, if your hair is naturally ashy stay ashy. If it is golden stay golden. For example if your hard is closest to golden light brown, try golden dark blond.

Bangs can make you look like you have had a face lift. I have heard this one before and I know this is true. The hair around the face makes for a softer look. Be careful not to have bangs that are harsh and too bluntly cut. For most people bangs should be soft, wispy and somewhat long (past the eyebrows).

Use glazes between colorings. This not only makes your hair look shiny, it also makes it so you do not have to color your hair too often and causing undue damage. Plus they are cheap to buy at the drugstore and easy to do at home. Try John Feida's brand. It only costs 7.99!

Change your hairstyle once in a while. Hairstyles that looked good on you in your twenties do not look quite the same in your thirties or forties. So freshen up your look periodically with a new haircut.
