Spring i s just around the corner and that means putting away your winter wardrobe and saying hello to your vibrant, fun clothes. The arrival of spring also means adding a few new items to spruce up your clothing collection, to add some spunk to it, and I am here to help you do just that.
What’s the trend for this spring?
Ankle Crop Pants – find a pair of comfortable crop pants. They don’t have to be overly baggy, just make sure they are comfy. Sheknows.com recommends “relaxed pants that are easy to wear, fitting a bit loose through the hips. Whether tapered of wide-legged, they should finish just above the ankle.
High-Wasted Skirts – you may have seen these in the 2009 fashion walkways. Whether or not, this is a trend that I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of this spring. Keep in mind to keep your color choice bright for the season.
Hot Pink Handbags – you will find a nice variety of these this spring. You can also find them in numerous shades of pink that range from baby-girl pink to magenta. Even if your purse doesn’t match your outfit, it’s still fun to have a brightly colored purse to brighten up your day.
Bold Chunky Jewelry – be bold this spring and add a chunky bracelet or large ring to your collection. Opt for a string of large beads instead of a smaller, understated necklace. It’s spring and it’s time to have fun, so let your jewelry help you do that.
Snakeskin Bags and Shoes – both real and faux skins are really in this year! Take advantage of it and try a snakeskin pair of shoes to go with your work outfit instead of your usual heels or add a sassy purse with a zebra print. Jazz it up!
Ruffled Dresses – yes, ruffles are in this season. Don’t imagine the ruffles on that 1970’s, powder blue tuxedo, think feminine. Also, think bright shades, like yellow. Keep in mind that any shade of yellow will do, because I know not all women love the bright, Big Bird yellow. If you don’t like the bright shades, keep it soft and mellow.
Mix and Match Prints – I know they always say to not mix prints, but this season, mixing is in. It can look amazing when done right. Sheknows.com suggests one mixing solution, “a tiny polka dot print top and a striped trouser will work well together.” So give it a try and have fun.
The main objective this spring is to have fun with what you’re wearing. Try playing around with new colors, textures, and jewelry that you would normally ignore. Revamp your wardrobe and in return I’m sure it will revamp you.
