You have spent too much time in the sun and have found brown spots on your skin. Is it skin cancer or not? That is something that your primary care physician can answer, but it is good to go prepared. Here are some important signs to look out for.

  1. Oozing or bleeding of the skin- If you have this type of skin, chances are there is a case of skin cancer. This is not always the case, but if you are having such a symptom, it is best to consult your doctor right away. Oozing or bleeding of the skin if you are wondering is it skin cancer or not can be a sure sign that there is a informality in your skin.
  2. Change in size or color of skin- This is a subtle change that can be missed if you are not paying attention to the way your skin is forming. Looking at your skin everyday, you can see that it remains mainly one color and size. Lumps and sizes of moles on your skin can be a red flag to the normal type of skin. Be conscience of your body and know when there is a degree of change to your skin.
  3. Dark coloring- Patches or dark spots on your skin should be looked at immediately by your doctor. In many cases, people ignore the fact that their bodies have dark spots and don’t bother getting them looked at. With dark spots on your skin, there could be a chance that this is skin cancer. Knowing whether or not it is skin cancer is very important if you are to live longer.

When you have talked with your primary care physician and determined is it skin cancer or not, you can feel better about yourself. It takes a lot of courage to go into your doctor’s office and ask this type of question. There are many cases of skin cancer in the United States to have skin cancer not be taken lightly. When you have researched all there is about skin cancer, you can have a better understanding on the prevention of it. Preventing skin cancer from forming is the best you can do for your body. Always be aware of what is going on in your body and consult your primary care physician if you see any changes in your skin.
