The desi re is in all of us to have more energy during the day. The body naturally cycles throught bursts of energy and periods of rest. However, a problem develops when we require more energy to complete our necessary daily activities than we have to give.
Try these tips to improve your energy levels.
- Maintain a regular sleep rountine. You can't cheat the clock by staying up late on the weekends and wake up feeling energetic on Monday. If you enjoy a couple of late nights, go to be early to allow your body to rest.
- Don't fall victim to the caffeine and sugar roller coaster. Sure they give you a quick pick up, but once the effects wear off, you are left with an even lower energy dip.
- The benefits of a power nap. Just close your eyes and allow your mind to drift, you will become refreshed and reenergized.
- Drink more. No not alcohol, water and fluids. Most of us are in a constant state of dehydration from sipping caffeinated drinks all day. Caffeine causes you to loose more fluid by acting as a diuretic.
- Get Regular Exercise. Start simple and park the car a little farther than you have to and walk. Being in poor physical condition causes shortness of breath and the heart to pump harder .
- Laughter has many great benefits. Brain chemicals increase for the emotions of happiness, peace, and pleasure. Ready jokes on a regular basis, look at cute animal pictures, or rent a comedy movie.
- Avoid negative people. Negative moods will decrease your energy levels and make you feel zapped. They are one of the most contagious diseases, so avoid them at all costs.
- Take a pill. A daily multivitamin that is. With our busy schedules, we don't eat right and deficiencies can occur. This will drain your energy stores and leave you feelling like the energizer bunny ran off and left you.
