Today while reading Google News I ran across this article. It says studies show that weight loss doubles just by keeping a food journal. Wow. In a cosmic turn of events yesterday I had decided to start doing just that. I am not sure I will track calories or anything. I just plan on writing down everything I pass through my lips. Just being accountable in that way makes me think about what I am eating. Plus, school supplies are on sale right now so this is a truly cheap solution for weight loss in these tight economic times. Also if you like doing things on the computer you can simply use a word processing program.

Here are a few tips for journaling your food intake.
- Keep the journal were you normally prepare the foods you eat.
- Write down what you eat as you eat it, not just at the end of the day. That way you will think about what you are putting in your mouth as you are doing it.
- Take time to review old journal entries for ideas on how you could cut calories, add healthier options and even just for ideas for what to eat in the future.
- Keep track of how much water you are drinking and the taking of your daily vitamin.
