Halloween is full of treats that seem to get more creative every year. When planning your big bash of a Halloween party, send your guests home with some frightfully fun Halloween party favors.

Popcorn Witch Hands

Witch hands made of popcorn and candy corn are fun to make and kids will love them. To make popcorn witch hands, you’ll need:

  • Popcorn, popped with no butter added
  • Clear plastic gloves, the kind food handlers use
  • Candy corn
  • Orange and black ribbon
  • Plastic spider rings

Open up a clear plastic glove by putting your hand into it or blowing in it. Drop a piece of candy corn – pointed end first – into each finger and thumb. Fill the entire glove with popcorn, keeping the candy corn at the tip of the finger. Stuff the glove as full as you can, shaking and manipulating the glove to fill all air holes. Tie the end with orange and black ribbons. Curl the ribbons with scissors. Place a spider ring on the ring finger of each popcorn hand.

Ghost Lollipops

Ghost lollipops are quick, easy and they’re a party favor that little ones can help to make.  To make ghost lollipops, you’ll need:

  • Tootsie Pops or other round lollipops on sticks
  • Small squares of white fabric (or tissues, if you’re in a pinch)
  • Black ribbon

Cover the lollipops each with a small square of white fabric and tie with a black ribbon or piece of yarn at the “neck.”

Draw on eyes and a round mouth for the simplest of Halloween party favors. Or get creative by using googly eyes, glow-in-the-dark fabric, or black and orange designs.

Witches’ Hats

Witches’ hats are easy to make as a party treat or an edible take-home party favor. You’ll need:

  • Fudge striped cookies (with solid chocolate bottoms and a hole in the center
  • Orange frosting and a cake decorator’s piping tool
  • Hershey kisses

Unwrap the foil from the Hershey kisses. Turn the cookies over so that the solid chocolate bottoms are facing up. Pipe a line of orange frosting around the center hole. Place the Hershey kiss in the center, covering the hole. Pipe more orange frosting around the base of the Hershey kiss.

Chrysanthemum Pots

For an adult Halloween party, a potted chrysanthemum is a perfect take-home party favor. Buy small mum plants in burgundy, gold, purple, yellow and other fall colors and repot them in terracotta pots.

Plain terracotta pots can be painted for a festive party favor:

  • Paint a jack-o-lantern face with black paint
  • With a black permanent marker, draw a spider web that covers the entire pot. Glue on a plastic spider with a hot glue gun.
  • Sponge paint with fall colors and tie with a Halloween ribbon.
  • Cover the pot with artificial fall leaves by lightly gluing them on in an overlapping pattern and then covering with decoupage.

Candy Goodie Bags and More

Filling a little goodie bag with candy and treats has gotten more creative. Candy holders come in shapes like coffins, jack-o-lanterns, witches’ cauldrons and Frankenstein heads. Buy them in bulk and fill them with candy corn or your favorite candy.

Halloween goodie bags can also be made from Chinese take-out containers – white containers are the perfect ghost face. Just add your own ghost eyes and mouth with a black marker.

Make a fall theme goodie bag out of a plain brown lunch sack, filled with candy. Fold down the top, punch two holes, thread through some strands of raffia, and tie into a bow.
