The funeral for Michael Jackson will be on Tuesday, June 7. Original plans were for Michael to lay in state at his Neverland Ranch, but the Jackson family has since changed those plans and has now confirmed that the services will be held at the Staples center in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning.
In other news, Michael’s brother, Jermaine Jackson has made a public plea to fans and the media to stop speculating about whether or not Michael was abusing prescription drugs. While the circumstances around Michael Jackson’s death do seem strange, Jermaine insists that the allegations are damaging his family as they deal with the loss of their brother and son.
Police investigating Michael Jackson’s death have conducted a thorough search of his mansion in Holmby Hills, California. Boxes of evidence have been removed, including different pills and medications reported to have been used by Michael Jackson. One report suggests that Propofol, a medication used for surgical anaesthesia, was among the many drugs. This medication is only administered by intravenous drip and is strong enough to stop the heart.
Jermaine Jackson insists that Michael was not a drug addict, was in great shape, and was able to pass the physical exam necessary to allow him to proceed with his planned 50 concert run in London.
Autopsy results from the L.A. coroner’s office are due in a few weeks. The family has requested a second autopsy; with results yet to be released.
