Whether it is building a new deck, painting the fence or landscaping your backyard, summer is the ideal time for home renovation projects. Those warm temperatures and sunshine encourage us to spend more time outdoors … even if we are doing repairs!
We shouldn’t overlook overhauls inside your home either. One common job is replacing aging appliances … is that washing machine of yours ready for retirement? Many of the older models of washing machines are top-loading models. If it’s time for a replacement, bring in a front-loader instead.- it’s the environmentally-friendly thing to do!
Typically, a front-loading washing machine will operate with far less water than its predecessor. Should you be continuing to wash your laundry in hot water, the less water in your washing machine’s tub will require less power to heat. This will make you happy as you’ll notice the savings. You’ll also likely notice a savings in the amount of laundry detergent used with your new front-loader.
Additionally, front-loading washing machines can spin-dry clothes much quicker and more efficiently than top-loaders. To draw an analogy, a child’s pinwheel will always spin faster when it is held upright rather than horizontal. Although clothes will remain damp when pulled from the washing machine, they will require less time in your drier.
And, one shouldn’t overlook the space-saving benefits of front-loading washing machines either. Consumers can purchase sets of laundry machines where the drier can be stacked above the washer. Even if you keep the drier beside your washer, you can use that extra wall space to install storage shelves.
Really, the only downfall to front-loading washing machines is the increased price. While such machines do require more of a financial outlay, they are well worth it.
