An aura is an electromagnetic energy that surrounds all life forms. It works as a protective filter and also reflects subtle life energies that are within the life form. Each of us has an aura, and this aura is a life force made up of a wide variety of ever changing colors that are a gauge of our spiritual, emotional and physical well being.

Because of its filtering and magnetic nature, an aura can accumulate a lot of negative or unwanted energy over the course of the day. Unpleasant emotions and stress, not just our own but that of others too, can weaken or cloud our auras making them less efficient and leaving us feeling spiritually and emotionally depleted. Because of this, its important to cleanse the aura of any impurities on a regular basis. Its not hard to do and doesnt have to take a lot of time.

Smudging

Use a smudge stick, preferably one made of white sage, to cleanse and purify your aura. After lighting the smudge stick waft the smoke around your body, using a feather or your hand to direct the smoke. Make sure that you direct the smoke over the top of your head, the bottoms of your feet and behind your back too. This cleanses your aura and carries away any impurities.

Water

The use of water is an easy and refreshing way to cleanse your aura. The most common way to do this is with a ritual purification bath. Add one or two tablespoons of sea salt to warm bath water or, if you prefer, you can use several drops of an essential oil such as rosemary or juniper instead. Soak in the warm water for about 15 or 20 minutes as you visualize all the negativity sliding away from you. If youre not a bath person then a shower can also do the trick. Let the water run over your body as you visualize the negative energy being washed away. Dont forget to let the water run over the crown of your head too.

Deep Breathing

Take a few minutes of uninterrupted time and sit in a quiet place. Close your eyes and take deep, gentle breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. Dont force the breaths at all; just breathe slowly and rhythmically. As you do this, visualize a soft, white light washing over your body and cleansing away any negative energy from your aura. Visualize your aura as being strong, clear and pure.

These methods are good ways in which you can cleanse your aura and help it to function in a way that leaves you more in tune with your spirit and the energy around you.

ElizabethFarrellThat's a good question. Since surgery of any kind can create stress on the body, it can also have an impact on the body's aura. And because the chakras and aura are interconnected, surgery of any kind may cause some disruption to one or more of the chakras too. Where the surgery is performed can come into play also. For instance, if the surgery was in the abdominal area, it may cause some temporary disruptions to the flow of energy in the third or the second chakras. Another thing to consider would be the reasons the person chose to have the cosmetic surgery. This is because our emotions and sense of who we are can have positive and negative effects on the aura and chakras. So if a person has a lack of confidence, the surgery may give them a boost to their self-esteem. If so, this may have a slightly positive impact on the third chakra, which is considered the seat of self, as well as the function of all the chakras. But if lack of confidence or feelings of low self-esteem continue, there will continue to be blockages in their flow of energy. I've also heard that surgery in the area of a particular chakra may cause that chakra to relocate by several inches, however the usual location of the chakras are in a straight line, running from the base of the spine (root chakra) to the top of the head (crown chakra).
