Before you know it autumn will be here, the nights will grow longer, children will be back at school and the television networks will be starting their new season of shows. As you may already know there are many shows with a spiritual or paranormal feel to them, ranging from episodic dramas to reality shows and documentaries and, depending on your personal tastes, they can bring a great deal of enjoyment and entertainment.

Medium- This popular series is loosely based upon the life of psychic and medium Allison Dubois. In the television series Allison juggles being a mom, occasional domestic upheavals and her work for the Phoenix police department where she helps them to solve crimes ranging from missing children to murders. Medium offers a nice blend of the paranormal and suspense, along with the joys and headaches of family life.

Saving Grace- Holly Hunter plays Grace, a jaded, heavy drinking detective who faces an incredible wake up call one night. After hitting a man with her car she pleads to God for help and help appears in the form of an angel named EARL who is far from your typical angel. His scruffy, folksy character offers her a second chance, but what will she do with this second chance? EARL appears throughout the show hoping that Grace will change her self-destructive life but doing so with humor and compassion. While the show doesn’t tout any specific religion, there is an underlying feeling of the importance of faith.

Pushing Daisies- A whimsical show about a man named Ned who has the unique gift of bringing the dead to life, except there is one catch. If he touches them once they come back to life, but if he touches them again they go back to being dead. His gift is a very handy way to help solve crimes but it also brings up spiritual concepts for the viewer to think about, such as the eternity of spirit, the healing significance of touch and the world that exists between this life and the next.

Rescue Mediums- A reality-based show featuring two well-known and quirky psychics, Christine Hamlett and Jackie Dennison. They assist homeowners and businesses that have ghost or spirit problems by connecting with the spirits and helping them to cross over. Not all of the energies they encounter are necessarily good, which can give the show a suspenseful feel.

Haunting Evidence- A documentary show that features a medium, psychic profiler and a paranormal investigator. The three investigate missing persons cases and unsolved crimes by using their combined gifts.

Ghost Whisper- Melinda Gordon is the owner of an antique store in a small town and is happily married to her paramedic husband. But she also has the gift of being able to see and communicate with spirits. In this captivating and often suspenseful drama, Melinda helps the trapped spirits to resolve the conflicts that are keeping them in this world and eventually find the light of the next world.

As you can see, if you are interested in shows about paranormal topics or like watching shows with a spiritual feel to them, there are many to choose from.
