For centuries, people have used candles for a variety of spiritual purposes and religious ceremonies. The flickering flame of candle light has a way of increasing positive energy in the rooms they are placed, and encouraging a state of spiritual peace. You too can increase the positive energy in your environment through the use of candles.
Light them with a Purpose
Assign a message to a candle before you light it, as a way to send out your intentions for specific types of positive energy. Focus on an intention as you light your candle, such as for happiness, better health or protection. While lighting your candle you can ask your spirit guides, God or your angels to help you achieve these goals. After you have lit your candle, spend a few moments visualizing yourself achieving this goal as you bask in the positive energy being sent out.
Create a Personal Sanctuary
The warm glow of candle light has a way of creating a cozy and calming environment. At the end of a long, busy day you can create a peaceful sanctuary by filling a room with candle light. Place candles throughout the room of your choice, light them and let their positive glow fill your spirit. Taking a bath by candle light is another way to create some positive energy as you soak away the stress and strain of the day.
Candles for Sacred Space
The use of candle light to help create a sacred space has been around for centuries. A sacred space is basically any quiet, uncluttered room or area of your home that you can use as a sanctuary for your soul.
Light a candle in your sacred space whenever you go there to pray, meditate or simply spend time in peaceful reflection. Some people light a candle of a certain color, in order to draw upon the energy associated with that color. For instance, green traditionally represents abundance, blue is truth and peace, pink is love and compassion, and white is spiritual enlightenment.
Whether they are used for a spiritual purpose or for some personal pampering, candles have a special way of raising positive energy and creating a peaceful, spiritually enriching environment.
