With Valentine's Day just around the corner and spring fast approaching, thoughts can naturally turn to love, romance and sensuality. These are aspects closely connected with the Greek goddess Aphrodite, the golden goddess of femininity, beauty and love. Along with beauty and romance, Aphrodite has a way of enhancing all the pleasures and delights of life. She can also bring out a woman's true inner beauty, grace and seductive power. By getting in touch with Aphrodite, you can bring out your own inner beauty and enhance feelings of love and joy in your life.

Reveal your Inner and Outer Beauty

Be mindful of negative statements or thoughts you have concerning your body image. Gently work to replace them with more positive and empowering thoughts.

List five things that you really like about yourself; things that make you a truly beautiful person. Keep the list handy and to use as an uplifting reminder whenever you need it.

Display a favorite photo of yourself somewhere in your home, in a place where you will easily see it. Take a moment each day to send loving thoughts to this image of yourself.

Too often women tend to put other people's needs before their own, so devote some time each day to taking care of your physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Prepare yourself a healthy meal, take a walk in the park, meditate, practice new yoga moves. Remind yourself that this is what you deserve.

Nurture Friendships

Even though Aphrodite was a beautiful seductress, she also understood the importance of friendship. Having women friends offers you a unique support system, for only women can understand the joys and frustrations of what it is to be female.

Form friendships with women who are loyal, supportive and appreciate you for who you are. At the same time, be an attentive friend and show them how much you appreciate and care for them.

Pamper Yourself

Treat yourself to a massage, herbal wrap, manicure or any other type of body treatment that you would find enjoyable.

Take a long, scented bath. Light a candle, play relaxing music, then soak to your heart's content.

Allow yourself to do something just for you each day. Read a favorite book, listen to uplifting music or spend some time daydreaming.

Pamper your Spirit

Meditate with crystals or gemstones associated with Aphrodite, such as rose quartz, citrine, pink tourmaline and emerald.

Light a pink or red candle, then sit quietly and visualize yourself surrounded by loving energy.

Connect with your second chakra. For women, this is the chakra associated with sexual energy, and also creativity. Do something creative, paint, sing or write. Dancing is also a good way to connect with and open the second chakra. Especially dance that involves hip movement, such as salsa or belly dancing.

Take time each day to delight in the beauty and sensuality of Aphrodite, and bring to life the joyful energy of the goddess that’s within you!
