The dimly lit streets of East London have an eerie empty feel about them. It is cold, dark and foggy. You pull up the collar of your coat to keep the chill out and check over your shoulder to see if anyone is following you. As you walk along these crooked cobble stoned alleys of Whitechapel you are spirited back in time to the fall of 1888 when the world’s most famous serial killer walked these same streets.

No this is not a scene from a movie, it is part of a walking tour that follows the trail of murder and mayhem left by Jack the Ripper in London’s east end in 1888. This two hour tour takes you on a chilling journey to the sites where Jack the Rippers victims were murdered. Your guide will describe in detail all the facts about these unsolved murders that occurred here in Victorian London.

Between August and November of 1888, Jack the Ripper brutally murdered 6 prostitutes but the most alarming fact of the case is that he was never caught! The facts of the case, known as the Whitechapel Murders, have fascinated and disturbed law enforcement and the general public for over 100 years yet the true identity of the murderer is still unknown.

The walk takes you to down the same streets the murderer would have walked so long ago. The streets and many of the buildings are the same as they were in 1888. You can feel the hair on the back of your neck standing on end as you walk along George Yard and arrive at the site of the first murder. As you visit site after site where Jack the Ripper committed his horrendous crimes you might even glimpse the ghost of one of his victims.

As you go back in time to these historic sites, you will be presented with not only the facts of the case but several possible suspects as well. Even though the Ripper was never caught, the police had several suspects and believed they were one step behind this sadistic killer.

Does Jack the Rippers ghost haunt Whitechapel along with those of his victims? If you would like to find out for yourself why not take a Jack the Ripper Tour and walk in the footsteps of the word’s most famous serial killer in London’s eerie East End.
