Multi Vitamins without iodine

Hi, this is actually a two part question. I'd like to take a good daily multi-vitamin but all the multi's that I've checked out seem to include iodine. I'm allergic to iodine so can't take these; are there any multi-vitamins available that don't include idodine?

Also, how important is it for someone to take a multi-vitamin each day? I'm not always able to eat healthy each day so could this be helpful?

iodine-free vitamins

(1) Yes, if you google -iodine-free vitamin- you'll see several. I noticed one for women from GNC called "Women's Ultra Mega." (2) Yes, I think it's very important to take a multi. Our soils are depleted of many nutrients so even if you eat really well, there will be some gaps in your nutrition. I should write an article on vitamins--the recommended amounts are too small. Don't buy vitamins that have 100% of the recommended amounts; get more than that. Watch for an article soon on the amount of vitamins and minerals that we need each day. DrRon

What about liquid vitamins?

Can you tell me, is it better to take vitamins that are in a pill form or in a liquid? I would think the absorption would be better with a liquid vitamin. I'm looking for a good multivitamin liquid (I think Centrum does have one) because good grief, vitamins are getting bigger and bigger! It's hard to swallow a pill as big as your shoe!

Liquid vs Solid Vitamins

There is advertising from liquid vitamin manufacturers that state that, of course, liquid is better. I can\'t find actual studies that suggest any benefit for either form. The body is designed to drink only water and solid food so pills should be at least as good as liquid. It\'s only logical that the quality of the vitamins would be a more important factor than the form. Another factor is the food that is eaten at the same time as the vitamins; some vitamins are fat soluble so a little fat in the meal will help with early digestion. I would use a high-quality vitamin from as natural a source as possible. Low-cost drug-store vitamins are often synthetic. I apologize for not responding sooner.

Organic vitamins

hello all,
I know one company that makes some organic multi vitamins----New Chapter. Since they are a whole food product, it is only what is naturally occurring in the ingredients---no added chemicals or preservatives.

This means the ingredients are cultured and not the same as taking an isolated or chemical source of iodine. You are likely allergic to the chemical one, many people tolerate it in its natural state. Or you can get their Berry Greens which is all vegetables and fruits, make a drink with it----only the iodine that is found in foods that way.

Multi without Iodine

TwinLabs has a multi with no iodine at all. It's called "Allergy Multi Caps"
