I'm wondering if anyone can help me out. I had a neighbor come and water my plants while we were gone for 5 days. I have done the same for her in the past. Am I obligated to bring her a gift from our vacation or give her a gift of some sorts? Or will a thank-you suffice?
First, sorry I didn\'t see this post sooner! I suppose it\'s too late to respond, but I will anyway.
I think it\'s really nice when people come home from a vacation with a little gift for the neighbors who watched their house, took care of their plants, brought in their mail, etc. I don\'t think it\'s absolutely necessary, but just nice. A verbal \'thank you\' and offer to return the favor is probably all that is required.
I know people who are SO generous and are always giving little gifts for every little thing you do for them.
Myself, I like to buy things and sometimes buying a trip souvenir for someone who is watering my plants is just the excuse I need to buy some little thing!
