Is boycotting the Olympics the right move?

We've read so much about the Olympics and the problems with China and Tibet. Is boycotting the Olympics the answer? Is it effective and worth it, or is it simply going to rob athletes of the opportunity to compete? Perhaps there really is no answer. What do you think?

Boycotting for what reason and to what end?

While I do not agree with what is happening in Tibet, is it right to boycott and stop what thousands of athletes have devoted their lives to? I still don't think it's right that China got the Olympics. From what I heard, they haven't fulfilled the promises for air regulations for the Olympics, and it's literally only weeks away. Something just isn't right there.
