I thought about buying a fuel-economy meter for about $160 that gives an instantaneous and long-term fuel economy reading. Then I thought, why not just keep the RPMs down. So both my wife and I are trying to keep the RPMs below 2000. This insures that the car accelerates slowly and efficiently. Larger cars may have to increase that to 2500 for the car to accelerate. The improvement, based on just one tank of city driving was about 2 MPG. We're also going to make sure our tires are well inflated.
Buy a bicycle and use technology to stay close to people !
Every time I have a chance not to take the car or the bus, I walk for exercise and to save some money... gas is really expensive that I only use the car when necessary...
The price of fare is going down too... I just hope this stabilizes and keeps a steady price..
well prices are going up again... we don't have much control about that because oil producing countries have the power... we can only bare it and find other ways to save money by not spending too much on gas etc.
