About Chad Criswell- Professional Education and Affiliations

Mr. Criswell is a professional educator with bachelor's and master's degrees in music education and educational technology from the University of Northern Iowa. He holds memberships in the Music Educator's National Conference (MENC), the Iowa Bandmaster's Association (IBA), and the National Education Association (NEA).

Practical Technological Experiences

Chad's experiences with technology began in the late 1980's as the proud owner of a classic IBM PCjr. Since then his tastes and his abilities have grown, causing him to pursue a graduate degree in technology that has allowed him to mix his two major passions of music and computers together. He has worked with technology on a professional level for nearly two decades now, and is a highly respected and utilized contact person for educational groups throughout the midwest.

Professional Publications

Chad is an active online and print author, with his content being syndicated on dozens of web sites all over the Internet. His primary project is his personal site, MusicEdMagic.com, where he provides practical information and news to music educators and students all over the world. He has also been published in School Band and Orchestra Magazine and the Mississippi Bandmaster. He is also a regular contributor to Technology and Education Magazine as well as Teaching Music Magazine.

Professional Leadership Positions

Mr. Criswell is currently the technology chairperson and webmaster for the Iowa Music Educator's Association (IMEA).
