Diane Laney Fitzpatrick has been entertaining in her home since the first time she didn’t have money or a babysitter to go out. She spent the next 20 years proving that it’s more fun to be the hostess in your own house than to leave home for entertainment.

She prefers casual dinner parties with a mix of people, children are always invited, and she loves being able to serve dinner in her stocking feet.

Professional Writing

Diane has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Kent State University and was a newspaper reporter and editor for 10 years before beginning a freelance writing career.

Diane writes on a variety of parenting topics on the Web and for magazines. She is a guide and writer at Life123.com.

Diane has moved her family eight times in the past 20 years and has written a humorous book about her experiences, Home Sweet Homes: A Survivor’s Guide to Moving Your Family Without Losing Your Marbles, for which she’s seeking a publisher.

She writes short stories just for fun.

Living

Diane is married and has three children in high school and college. She’s a runner and enjoys donating her time and money to 5K charity races. She loves to cook, read, play the piano, and chronicle her family’s life in photographs. She and her family live in Jupiter, Florida.
